Adair County is always looking for persons interested in becoming poll workers. We will provide the necessary training to be a poll worker. Some job requirements are:
- Watching the polls
- Signing in voters
- Assisting voters as needed
- Tallying votes at the close of the polls
You are paid to be a poll worker. If you are asked to work as a Chair Person the rate of pay is $10.50 an hour; otherwise the rate of pay is $9.50 an hour. We also reimburse for your mileage to and from your home to the polling place at $.44 per mile.
The hours worked will vary from election to election. We normally schedule workers to work in their own precinct, but sometimes you may be asked to work in a different precinct. You always have the option to accept or decline when you are asked to work an election.
