Adair County is always looking for persons interested in becoming poll workers. We will provide the necessary training to be a poll worker. Some job requirements are:

» Watching the polls

» Signing in voters

» Assisting voters as needed

» Tallying votes at the close of the polls

You are paid to be a poll worker. If you are asked to work as a Chair Person the rate of pay is $10.00 an hour; otherwise the rate of pay is $9.00 an hour. We also reimburse for your mileage to and from your home to the polling place at $.40 per mile.

The hours worked will vary from election to election. We normally schedule workers to work in their own precinct but sometimes you may be asked to work in a different precinct. You always have the option to accept or decline when you are asked to work an election.
